Kurt A. Krueger, MD
“When patients come in and they are unable to perform everyday activities, I understand how they feel. I focus on their goals, which are to decrease pain and improve performance so they can get back to their active lifestyles. In addition to providing patients with today’s latest and most effective treatment methods, I educate them on how to maximize the healing process as well as prevent re-injury. Getting patients actively involved in their own recovery can result in a better outcome.”
With nearly 40 years practicing medicine, Dr. Krueger has improved the quality of life for thousands of patients. He is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology with a subspecialty in Pain Management, and has been a partner at Pain Consultants of West Florida since 2003. After completing medical school at Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska, he found his passion for anesthesiology and pain medicine while completing his residency at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota.
His philosophy on treating patients is a simple – yet profound – version of the golden rule: to treat patients as he would like to be treated and give them exceptional care to the best of his ability. Dr. Krueger empathizes with his patients and empowers them to be fully involved in their own recovery, bettering their pain management results.
Dr. Krueger was recently elected president of the Escambia County Medical Society Foundation, which is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to assuring access to healthcare for the medically indigent citizens of the area. He is looking forward to improving the local indigent population’s access to medical care through his service with the ECMS Foundation.
Dr. Krueger sees the value and ability in the private and independent sectors of medicine to care for patients in a more personalized and honest way. He is affiliated with many professional associations, among them the Mayo Foundation, Doctor’s Mayo Society, and the Florida Society of Interventional Pain Physicians. His hobbies outside of work include cycling, sailing, and golf. Dr. Krueger has hospital privileges at Sacred Heart Hospital and Baptist Hospital.
